Maikel Franco taking a seat Thursday for Phillies
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco is getting a day off Thursday.
What It Means:
The young third baseman is in a 2-for-22 slump, so he'll take a day of mental and physical rest in Thursday afternoon's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals. Andres Blanco is starting at the hot corner and batting third versus Cardinals' left-hander Jaime Garcia.
Franco has five homers and 15 RBI's with a .243/.295/.427 slash and .308 wOBA in 112 plate appearances this season.
