Tyson Ross (shoulder) still not throwing for Padres

San Diego Padres pitcher Tyson Ross (shoulder) still has not been cleared for throwing.

What It Means:

Ross has been on the disabled list since April 9 with inflammation in his right shoulder, and there is no timetable for a possible activation date. "He's still doing his stabilization exercises, feeling good," Padres manager Andy Green said Wednesday. "That process is ongoing until they determine that it's time to pick up a ball and throw."

In his one start this season, Ross whiffed five batters over 5 1/3 innings while allowing seven earned runs. His strikeout potential makes him an intriguing fantasy option. Ross fanned 212 hitters in 196 innings in 2015. Our models currently project him to record a 3.94 ERA and 19.5 strikeout percentage in just 50 innings pitched over the remaining course of the season.
