Angels' Jered Weaver rocked for seven runs in five frames

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jered Weaver was pounded for seven runs and 11 hits in five innings Monday by the Milwaukee Brewers.

What It Means:

Weaver took his first loss after three victories. He hasn't been very good in either of his last two starts, and his ERA has jumped from 3.12 to 5.40. Maybe he'll hold his own going forward despite the extreme lack of velocity, but there just isn't anything here to help fantasy leaguers.

At this point, it's not hard to argue Weaver shouldn't be pitching in the big leagues. He owns an 11.1 strikeout percentage, 7.1 walk percentage and 24.0 ground ball rate this season.
