Pedro Alvarez getting a breather Friday for Orioles
Baltimore Orioles designated hitter Pedro Alvarez is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Chicago White Sox.
He's getting a day off with the White Sox throwing southpaw Carlos Rodon. Mark Trumbo is in the designated hitter spot, and Joey Rickard and Nolan Reimold are in the corner outfield spots.
Alvarez is off to a slow start this season, slashing .182/.308/.250 with a .256 wOBA, no home runs and just one RBI. Our models currently project him to post a .318 wOBA with 21 home runs in 472 plate appearances in 2016.
