Josh Donaldson's deal with Blue Jays worth $28.65 million
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson's new two-year deal is worth $28.65 million, according to the Associated Press.
Donaldson went to arbitration last winter and won his case against the Blue Jays, but this time around the two sides were able to come to an agreement and avoid a hearing. The reigning American League MVP will remain under team control for another year after this new contract expires.
Donaldson had a career year in 2015, posting a .398 wOBA, hitting 41 home runs and recording the third highest Wins Above Replacement at 8.7. Our metrics loved him, too, as his 3.94 nERD ranked fifth. He should continue to mash in 2016.
