Gavin Floyd, Blue Jays finalize deal
The Toronto Blue Jays signed pitcher Gavin Floyd to a one-year, $1 million contract.
Floyd also has the potential to earn an additional $1 million in incentives based on days he's on the active roster. It's unclear if the Jays plan to use him in the rotation or out of the bullpen, which is where he finished the 2015 campaign with the Cleveland Indians.
Floyd hasn't pitched a full season since 2012. In that year, he posted a 4.26 xFIP in 168 frames while fanning 7.71 hitters per nine innings. From 2009-2011, Floyd racked up three straight seasons of at least 3.2 Wins Above Replacement.
