Orioles avoid arbitration with Zach Britton

Baltimore Orioles and left-handed closer Zach Britton avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $6.75 million contract.

What It Means:

With Britton now under contract, the Orioles have settled with all of their arbitration-eligible players. Britton has racked up 73 saves over the last two seasons.

Britton has become one of the game's premier relief pitchers. In 65 2/3 innings last season, he fanned 10.83 hitters per nine innings and finished with a pristine 1.75 xFIP.
