Blue Jays hoping for long-term deal with Josh Donaldson
Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said the team is "going to work toward a multi-year deal" with third baseman Josh Donaldson.
The Blue Jays have some leverage as Donaldson is under their control through 2018, but the 30-year-old reigning American League MVP likely won't sign a cheap long-term deal.
Donaldson had a monster 2015 season, posting a .398 wOBA, slugging 41 home runs and recording an 8.7 fWAR, all of which were career highs. His 3.94 nERD ranked fifth.
