Chris Paddack shut down for Padres rest of season
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Chris Paddack has been shut down for the remainder of the 2019 season.
Paddack fanned 9 batters while allowing just 1 run over five innings Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers in his final start of the season. The only hit he yielded was a Lorenzo Cain leadoff home run in the third inning. The 23-year-old right-hander finishes his superb rookie season with a 9-7 record in 26 starts.
Paddack posted a 3.33 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 153 strikeouts and 31 walks over 140 2/3 innings this season.
