Jose Ramirez placed on Indians' IL with hand fracture
The Cleveland Indians placed third baseman Jose Ramirez on the 10-day injured list with a fractured hamate bone in his right hand.
Ramirez suffered the injury on a foul tip during Saturday's game versus the Kansas City Royals. It will likely keep him out for the remainder of the season. The Indians recalled Yu Chang from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding roster move. Chang is covering third base for Cleveland in Sunday's series finale against the Royals.
Ramirez is hitting .254/.325/.463 with 20 homers, 33 doubles, 75 RBI, 24 steals, and 65 runs scored in 532 plate appearances (126 games) this season.
