Rockies' Dom Nunez on bench Wednesday afternoon
Colorado Rockies catcher Dom Nunez is not starting in Wednesday afternoon's series finale versus left-hander Robbie Ray and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Nunez hit a solo home run Tuesday for his first hit in the bigs while making his MLB debut. Tony Wolters is starting at catcher on Wednesday afternoon, but the Rockies designated Chris Iannetta for assignment, so Nunez should see regular playing time down the stretch.
The 24-year-old hit .244/.362/.559 with 17 home runs and 42 RBI in 61 games at Triple-A Albuquerque this season before being called up.
