Red Sox option Marco Hernandez to Pawtucket
The Boston Red Sox optioned infielder Marco Hernandez to Triple-A Pawtucket.
What It Means:
The move makes space for Mitch Moreland's return from the injured list. Brock Holt is replacing Hernandez on second base in Tuesday's matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Hernandez has hit .339 with a .859 OPS in 65 plate appearances at the big league level this season.
