Matt Chapman (ankle) out Thursday for Athletics
Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman is not starting in Thursday's series opener against right-hander Kyle Gibson and the Minnesota Twins due to ankle discomfort.
Chapman is still less than 100 percent after making an early exit from Wednesday's game. Chad Pinder is covering the hot corner on Thursday.
Chapman is batting .279/.363/.552 with 22 home runs, 25 doubles, 59 RBI, and 63 runs scored in 405 plate appearances this season.
