Ken Giles (elbow) could pitch Tuesday for Toronto
Toronto Blue Jays reliever Ken Giles (elbow) could pitch on Tuesday versus the Boston Red Sox.
Giles threw an encouraging 20-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday afternoon, opening the possibility that he sees game action for the first time since July 4. The 28-year-old right-hander has been dealing with nerve inflammation around his right elbow resulting from a bad massage during the All-Star break.
Giles owns a 1.45 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 53 strikeouts and 9 walks over 31 innings (31 games). He's converted 13-of-14 saves.
