Athletics' Franklin Barreto recalled, making season debut Sunday
The Oakland Athletics recalled infielder Franklin Barreto from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday.
Stephen Piscotty (knee) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding roster move. Barreto is replacing Jurickson Profar at second base and batting seventh on Sunday versus left-hander Andrew Heaney and the Los Angeles Angels in his season debut.
Barreto bat .296/.379/.549 with 12 homers, 48 RBI, 65 runs scored, and 13 steals in 318 plate appearances (73 games) for Las Vegas.
