Adam Wainwright (hamstring) to return to Cardinals' rotation Thursday
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright (hamstring) will be activated off the injured list in advance of a start on Thursday.
Wainwright will end up missing the minimum 10 days after suffering a hamstring injury on June 9. His start against the Miami Marlins on Thursday will push Michael Wacha back a day while Daniel Ponce de Leon will likely head back to the minors.
Wainwright has posted a 4.46 ERA and 1.40 WHIP while striking out 20.2% of batters faced in 70 2/3 innings this season.
