Phillies' Andrew McCutchen (knee) is out for the season with a torn ACL

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and is out for the season.

What It Means:

McCutchen suffered the injury running the bases on Monday. The injury is a severe blow for the veteran outfielder and the Phillies as McCutchen was leading the NL in walks (43) and scored 45 runs through 59 games. Jay Bruce and Adam Haseley will see extra at-bats moving forward.

McCutchen finishes the 2019 season with 10 homers, 29 RBI, and a .256 batting average over 262 plate appearances.
