Yankees shutting down Giancarlo Stanton (calf) 7-10 days
New York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (calf) will be shut down for 7-10 days, manager Aaron Boone told reporters Wednesday.
Stanton was scratched from an appearance with High-A Tampa on Tuesday for what Boone is calling a calf strain. It's not clear when he will be ready to return.
Stanton went 2-for-8 with 7 walks drawn and a run scored in three games before landing on the IL.
