J.D. Martinez out Tuesday for Red Sox due to illness
Boston Red Sox designated hitter/outfielder J.D. Martinez is out of Tuesday's lineup versus the Toronto Blue Jays due to illness.
It's Martinez's second straight absence, but it sounds like he could be back as soon as Wednesday. Mitch Moreland is in the DH spot for Boston on Tuesday while Steve Pearce is manning first base.
Martinez is slashing .308/.390/.521 with 9 home runs, 9 doubles, 29 RBI, and 28 runs scored through 195 plate appearances.
