Mitch Garver playing designated hitter Monday for Twins
Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver is playing designated hitter in Monday's series opener versus left-hander Tyler Skaggs and the Los Angeles Angels.
Garver is replacing Nelson Cruz (wrist) in the DH spot for the first time this season and leading off the order. He's batting a robust .352/.439/.775 with a 1.214 OPS through 82 plate appearances this season while tallying 8 taters, 17 RBI, and 18 runs scored.
