Arizona's Ildemaro Vargas sent down to Triple-A
Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ildemaro Vargas was optioned to Triple-A on Saturday.
What It Means:
Vargas was optioned to the minors after struggling to hit this season. The Diamondbacks have replaced his roster spot with catcher Alex Avila.
In 55 at-bats this season, Vargas is hitting .200 with one home run and four RBI.
