Yankees' James Paxton (knee) out 3 weeks max
New York Yankees starting pitcher James Paxton (knee) is expected to be sidelined for a maximum of 3 weeks, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Sunday.
Paxton was placed on the injured list this weekend with left knee inflammation after being lifted from Friday's start. Jonathan Loaisiga is taking Paxton's place in the Yankees' rotation.
The 30-year-old southpaw is 3-2 with a 3.11 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through seven starts in his first season with the Yankees. He has 52 punchouts and 13 walks.
