Angels place Tyler Skaggs (ankle) on injured list
The Los Angeles Angels placed starting pitcher Tyler Skaggs on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 13, with a left ankle sprain.
The cause and severity of the injury are unclear. Skaggs pitched a career-high 125 1/3 innings last season, but the 27-year-old left-hander has a history of health problems. The Angels recalled Jaime Barria from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding roster move.
Skaggs owns a 4.20 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 14 strikeouts and 2 walks over 15 innings in three starts this season.
