White Sox reportedly sign Eloy Jimenez to 8-year extension
Chicago White Sox prospect Eloy Jimenez has reportedly agreed to an 8-year extension, Hector Gomez of Deportivo Z 101 in the Dominican Republic reports.
The deal could be worth up to $80 million, with $43 million guaranteed per reports. ESPN's Jeff Passan says it is the largest deal for a player with no service time.
Our models project Jimenez to hit .281 with 22 home runs in 507 plate appearances this season. He has yet to make his big league debut but he slashed .355/.399/.597 in Triple-A last season in 228 plate appearances.
