Angels' Shohei Ohtani (elbow) plays catch Friday
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow) played some light catch on Friday.
Ohtani threw a soft toss of 60 balls for around 12 minutes, with half of those coming from 40 feet away. It was the first time he had done any throwing since undergoing Tommy John surgery last October. The Angels are hoping Ohtani will be available as a designated hitter by the beginning of May, but he will not pitch until 2020.
numberFire's models expect Ohtani to bat .274 with 25 taters, 74 RBI, 67 runs scored, and 10 steals across 465 plate appearances in 2019.
