1B Travis Ishakawa signed off waivers by Pirates
Travis Ishakawa has been claimed off of waivers by the Pirates after he was designated for assignment by San Francisco this weekend.
What It Means:
After starting the season on the 15-day DL with a lower back strain, Ishakawa (31) has only had 5 at bats with the Giants and has gone hitless during his limited action thus far. Pittsburgh first basemen have struggled offensively this year (.226/.292/.402) and Ishakawa looks to help the Pirates en route to another playoff bound season.
