Jaime Garcia (groin) sent to the 15-day DL
The Cardinals have placed Jaime Garcia on the 15-day DL with a strained groin. This year Garcia is 3-3 with a 1.69 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and a nERD of 0.89. Lefty Tim Cooney has been called up from single-A Peoria to replace Garcia's roster spot.
What It Means:
Cooney gets the nod to start against the Cubs on Tuesday. This year the 24-year-old Cooney is 6-4 with a 2.74 ERA in the minors.
