Dodgers' Joc Pederson not discussed in Braves' Shelby Miller trade talks
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson's name has not been involved in trade talks with the Atlanta Braves regarding pitcher Shelby Miller, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.
This news contradicts what Heyman himself earlier reported. The Dodgers and Braves are discussing a possible trade for Miller, but Heyman now says they've made it clear they'd would prefer to part with prospects instead of dealing from players already on the major league roster. Pederson is under team control through 2020, enticing to any team, especially the rebuilding Braves.
Despite hitting .210/.346/.417 in 151 games this season, Pederson showed serious power potential, slugging 26 home runs -- 20 of which came in the first half. It's possible the grind of his first season in the majors took its toll, and at just 24 years-old (in April), Pederson is likely valued highly among the Dodgers front office.
