Korean third baseman Jae-gyun Hwang posted for bidding
Korean third baseman Jae-gyun Hwang has been posted for bids from major league clubs.
Any interested team will have until 5 p.m. on Friday to submit a bid. Hwang is expected to generate considerable interest as it's a bare free agent third basemen market, with David Freese being the best, and perhaps only, option.
Hwang hit .290/.350/.521 with 26 home runs, 97 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 144 games this season for the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization. A converted shortstop playing third base, he is expected to play the same position in the Major Leagues.
