4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 9/5/19

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox and their 6.23 implied run total are projected to score the most runs on the slate. They are going to be massive chalk tonight, but their matchup and powerful offense make it completely justifiable.

First of all, they're going to be taking on Minnesota Twins' hurler Martin Perez, a left-hander who does not generate many strikeouts and walks way too many hitters. With a 19.1 percent strikeout rate and 9.4 percent walk rate, there is little reason to expect him to be able to handle the Red Sox. His 4.89 ERA and 4.95 SIERA are completely in line with one another, so he is what he's been.

Now to the fun part -- the hitters. J.D. Martinez ($4,400) is far and away the most dominant Boston hitter when it comes to this split as he has smashed left-handed pitchers to the tune of a .544 wOBA and .496 ISO. In addition, he's got an absolutely incredible .490 OBP in the split, which will certainly come in handy with Perez's horrible control. While not quite as powerful, but still dominant, Xander Bogaerts ($4,100) has managed a .362 wOBA and .279 ISO in this split. These are the two power bats you want to focus on.

Mookie Betts ($4,200) hasn't had the same power this season, nor the stolen base total, but he is still a great play tonight. He sports a .375 OBP against southpaws, which, again, will come in handy, and while his 14 stolen bases aren't great, Perez has allowed 11 this season, which is not good. A couple cheaper plays to consider are Christian Vazquez ($2,700) and Sam Travis ($2,800), who should both be in the lineup against a lefty.
