4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/1/19

Up against Andrew Cashner, the Rays are one of the night's more appealing offenses. Which other teams are on the stacking radar?

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Tampa Bay Rays

While the Tampa Bay Rays have just the fifth-best implied total on the slate, our models have them scoring a slate-high 5.32 runs in their clash with Andrew Cashner. Cashner has had some nice spells this year, but he's struggled of late, surrendering 12 earned runs across his past three outings (17 2/3 innings).

Not only are the Rays a quality offense (top 12 in both wOBA and hard-hit rate versus righties), they've got some cheap sticks, which is very useful on a slate where we'd like to pay up for Clayton Kershaw or Gerrit Cole.

Among Tampa's cheaper hitters, Kevin Kiermaier ($2,800), Nathaniel Lowe ($2,900), Ji-Man Choi ($2,700) and Willy Adames ($2,600) are the top options. Kiermaier had a homer and triple last night in his first start off the IL, and he's the top point-per-dollar hitter, per our models. Choi and Lowe will also have the platoon advantage, and Lowe is coming off an August in which he finished with a sparkling .421 wOBA and five taters in 73 trips to the dish. Adames won't have the platoon advantage, but Cashner has given up a .346 wOBA to righties this season.

Of course, the Rays have some nice high-priced options, as well, in Austin Meadows ($3,600), Tommy Pham ($3,800) and Travis d'Arnaud ($3,400), who could be in the 2-3-4 spots in the lineup. Pham was available off the bench last night, per reports, so he could be back in there today. D'Arnaud has 13 dingers in 199 plate appearances since coming to Tampa. Meadows is the owner of a superb .394 wOBA this year against righties.

Editor's Note: After publication, Lowe was sent down to Triple-A.
