Pitchers to Target

James Paxton ($9,600 on FanDuel): Paxton bounced back from two straight poor outings with a dazzling display against the Boston Red Sox in his last turn, fanning 12 and allowing just two hits over eight shutout innings. He's been volatile on a start-to-start basis, making him a bit scary for cash games, but the swing-and-miss stuff has been there regularly as he's got single-game swinging-strike rates of at least 13.4% in three of his four starts. The Kansas City Royals rank 18th in wOBA (.313), and the New York Yankees are -250 moneyline favorites, by far the biggest favorite on the slate. We have some other high-ceiling options -- it's one of the more fun pitching slates of the season thus far -- but Paxton is the top play, per our models, as we project him for 38.5 FanDuel points.
