MLB Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 10/11/17

If Edwin Encarnacion is in the lineup, he makes for a strong play in tonight's Game 5 against the New York Yankees. Who else should you consider rostering on FanDuel?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today.

Pitchers to Target

Corey Kluber ($10,600 on FanDuel): Corey Kluber was a huge disappointment in Game 2 against the New York Yankees, lasting all of 2 2/3 innings while allowing 6 earned runs -- amounting to a measly 2 FanDuel points. The last time he hit single-digit fantasy points? May 2nd. We shouldn't expect this negative lightning to strike twice in a winner-take-all Game 5 at home. In the regular season, Kluber put up a 2.68 SIERA, 34.1% strikeout rate, and 4.6% walk rate -- all by far the best marks on the board. In fact, none of the other three expected starters on the schedule had a SIERA below 4.00. Kluber is the hands-down top option tonight.
