4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/13/17

The Milwaukee Brewers have struck out an absurd amount to start the 2017 season. Can we trust them as a stack candidate Thursday in spite of their high-strikeout ways?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate beginning at 7 pm Eastern. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Milwaukee Brewers

Yes, the Milwaukee Brewers are striking out at borderline absurd levels this year. Yes, it's a concern. But with all of the hard contact they're making, it's hard to write them off when facing Bronson Arroyo.

Arroyo made his first big-league start since 2014 last week, and things didn't exactly go swimmingly. Over four innings, he walked as many as he struck out (three) and almost equaled that number in allowing two dingers. An 8.0% swinging-strike rate and 82.4% contact rate don't do much to dissuade us from stacking against him, even with a foe struggling mightily to make contact.

In his first year back in the bigs, Eric Thames perfectly embodies his new team. He has struck out in 9 of 25 plate appearances -- a mark that's way too high -- but 8 of his 13 balls in play have been hard-hit, including this beauty last week.

Thames is the value target here at $2,500 on FanDuel, allowing you to hopefully pay up for Madison Bumgarner at pitcher. Pairing him with Travis Shaw, Jonathan Villar, and a righty of your choice should get you plenty of exposure to Arroyo's potential struggles.
