Robinson Chirinos, C, Texas Rangers

FanDuel Price: $2,600

The Texas Rangers should be a popular stack tonight against Kendall Graveman, and rightfully so with few ideal hitting spots on the menu this evening. Graveman has been getting lit up this season, and owns a mediocre 4.53 SIERA and 14.8% strikeout rate in his career.

That means the guys in the top half of the order should be rather popular in both cash and tournaments, so you'll need to look a little lower if you want to add a contrarian twist to your GPP stack. With the combined catcher-first base slot on FanDuel this season, outside of a few exceptions, catchers are a lower-owned commodity these days, so Robinson Chirinos is likely to go overlooked.

Chirinos is a boom-or-bust sort with a combination of a 36.4% strikeout rate and 51.3% hard-hit rate, along with nice power numbers over the past couple seasons. Dating back to 2016, he's posted a 37.5% hard-hit rate and 48.2% fly-ball rate against righties, leading to a .246 isolated power (ISO). Good news for him -- Graveman has allowed at least one dinger in every start this season.

Given his propensity for the punchout, Chirinos is always a risk to drop a zero, but he's a low-cost power option, and Graveman's not going to rack up the Ks on any given night.
