David Montgomery (ribs) remains out Friday for Lions

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (ribs) is not practicing again on Friday for Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

What It Means:

Montgomery is trending toward missing another game when the Lions face the Raiders on Monday night. That means Jahmyr Gibbs will likely lead the Lions' backfield again. He out-snapped Craig Reynolds 62-7 in last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens and racked up 126 yards on 20 touches. Gibbs also scored his first NFL touchdown in Week 7.

Gibbs ($7,000) is the RB5 in numberFire's Week 8 PPR rankings and our models project him for 16.5 FanDuel points, with 17.5 carries, 72.5 rushing yards, 3.8 receptions, and 26.2 receiving yards. The Raiders are allowing the sixth-most FanDuel points per game to running backs and their run defense ranks second-worst in numberFire's opponent-adjusted NEP model.
